Located less than 2 hours from Paris and open all year round, the Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire, owned by the Centre-Val de Loire Region, overlooks the Loire, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its cultural landscapes.
It brings together 3 entities on a single 32-hectare property:
A Château, with a past both splendid and turbulent, occupies an exceptional site with a magnificent view over the wild Loire. Catherine de’ Medici and her astrologers, Diane de Poitiers, Germaine de Staël and the Princesse de Broglie are among the extraordinary figures who have marked the history of this remarkable Château.
An Arts and Nature Centre that welcomes internationally renowned artists. Painters, sculptors, photographers and visual artists are invited to create original works in the Château, the parks and the galleries of the Estate.
An International Garden Festival has showcased since 1992, alongside the “Cartes Vertes” given to prestigious landscape architects, a constantly renewed selection of gardens imagined by designers from all backgrounds who have answered an international call for projects on a theme that changes every year.
