  1. The Château and the Centre for Arts and Nature are open all year round, except on on January 1st and December 25th.
  1. The International Garden Festival and the Prés du Goualoup are open every day from 24/04 to 04/11/2018.

You will be asked to provide an ID document for any loan of materials.

  2. 4 spaces in the south entrance car park are reserved for use by disabled visitors; adapted toilets in the Donkey Stables (Farmyard).

In compliance with the Vigipirate Plan, bags are checked systematically; individuals with bulky luggage (exceeding 55x35x20 cm) are prohibited from entering the Domain.

Lockers are available at each of the Domain's entrances. Staff are not authorised to watch over visitors’ personal effects.

International Garden Festival and Domain's Grounds (short-leashed)


In order to ensure visitor safety, the Domain of Chaumont-sur-Loire is applying the preventative measures introduced by the government.
The Domain, i.e. the Château, its Historic Grounds and the International Garden Festival, is open under the usual conditions.
Access to the Domain is subject to change and systematic bag checks are in place.
We recommend that you do not bring bags and suitcases.
In any case, only bags not exceeding the maximum dimensions (55cm x 35cm x 20cm) are allowed and must be checked and then left in the lockers. Large capacity bags and suitcases are forbidden.
All individuals must agree to security checks. Please show understanding regarding possible delays caused by security checks at the entrances.
In the case of an incident, first move away from the danger area then alert security staff and follow their orders.

The Domain of Chaumont-sur-Loire is located in the heart of the Centre-Val de Loire Region, in the Loir-et-Cher department, on the left bank of the River Loire between the towns of Blois and Amboise.

You can get to Chaumont-sur-Loire along the D 952 (on the right bank) and D 751 subsidiary roads.

A10 motorway

  1. towards Bordeaux: exit 17 (Blois) – 30 minutes.

  2. towards Paris: exit 18 (Amboise) – 30 minutes.

A85 motorway

  1. exit 12 Saint Aignan – 30 minutes.


Free car park
The Domain's main car park is on the hillside (South entrance of the Domain – rue des Argillons). Priority is given to people with reduced mobility and families with pushchairs.
Parking spaces are also available in the village of Chaumont-sur-Loire and along the banks of the Loire.


  1. From Gare d’Austerlitz – arriving at Onzain / Chaumont-sur-Loire railway station, journey time: about 1 hour 40 minutes (Intercity train)
  2. From Tours station - arriving at Onzain / Chaumont-sur-Loire railway station, journey time: about 30 minutes (TER– Regional Express Train)

Every weekend from April to October, including all public holidays except 1 May, and daily in July and August, the Domain is served by a (return) shuttle service departing from Blois/Chambord and Onzain/Chaumont-sur-Loire railway stations.


Take the "Loire à Vélo" cycle path and call in at Domain of Chaumont-sur-Loire.
Free bike racks and lockers are available at each of the Domain's entrances.
