The garden
The living world is overflowing with natural shapes and structures. Biomimicry is the science of observation and involves paying attention to these living beings. They provide inspiration for gardeners and landscapers, studying what is already in front of them.
As an imitation of where the Loire and the Cisse river meet nearby and produce a fertile plain, the garden reproduces the local plant-life ecosystems that are found on the riverbanks and produce better quality water. The water is purified thanks to the vegetation, and it is thanks to the water than these plant species can grow. From a sort of jetty, or paved threshold, the water purification process begins. We can observe the vertical filtration carried out by the plants from a walkway and listen to the trickling waters of the flowing stream. At the far end of the garden, water flows into a pond filled with reeds, where filtering plants are growing. In wandering around this garden as you please, you will discover how the water flows into various ponds. The cycle ends in the meanders, where the plants conduct horizontal filtration of the water. Whether visible or hidden, the different spaces provide the opportunity to sit back and observe the surroundings, take in the peaceful environment and just reflect.
