Every year, for the last nine years, Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire has organised a major event, "Autumn Splendours", during the All Saints' half term in order to celebrate the magnificence of autumn with the extraordinary colours offered up by nature as the summer sun fades away.
Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire is getting all decked out for the occasion and offering tours, outings and discoveries of rare plants to everyone interested. The event will include the chance to discover plant scenes created for the occasion from seasonal vegetables and foliage, as well as cucurbits in an array of shapes and colocynths which have filled the Domaine and decorate the footpaths, outbuildings and chateau.
During the All Saint's weekend, visitors will have the chance to explore exhibitions made up of collections of old and rare vegetables, attend workshops for creating wickerwork garden accessories, take part in seed exchanges and get advice from the Domaine's gardeners. You can also enjoy a menu which has been specially designed for this weekend, made up of seasonal produce from the Domaine's vegetable garden.
